Arts & Sciences: Liberal Arts concentration
Associate of Arts degree
Transfer program
The Liberal Arts concentration at Garrett College introduces students to the basic building blocks of the arts and sciences and prepares them for further studies in areas such as English, history, journalism, philosophy, or pre-law. In this Associate of Arts degree program students select courses from across academic departments such as art, English, history, philosophy, and more, building a foundation that helps progress their ability to speak and write clearly, think critically, and understand problems. Students develop many of the abilities that are needed in the contemporary workplace, and are well-prepared with the background needed to be successful at a four-year college or university in a wide range of the arts and sciences.
Career Opportunities
Garrett’s Liberal Arts program prepares students to transfer to a four-year institution to continue studies in their desired discipline. After additional studies, liberal arts students often pursue careers in writing, editing, broadcasting, public relations, marketing, advertising, journalism, and more.
